In the latest episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast, Charlamagne Tha God shared details to comedian Andrew Schulz about hanging out with Kanye West last week. The Breakfast Club personality spoke about listening to the new albums from Kanye West , Teyana Taylor , and Pusha THe said that Kanye’s new music is similar to “socially conscious ‘Ye” and finds the artist rapping about “real sh*t,” using the song “Real Friends” off The Life of Pablo as an example.
Charlamagne talks about listening to Teyana Taylor’s new album, which he describes as “phenomenal,” and Pusha T’s next project. “He’s so authentic, he’s so him. So when you’re that honest and you’re not trying to be anything but who you are and your subject matter has always been more mature than everybody else is, you never age in the game,” he explains when discussing Pusha T’s music career.
When asked about Kanye’s mental health, Charlamagne says that the Chicago rapper is in a good space and hopes Kanye West talks, outside of Twitter, very soon. He also shared that they discussed therapy, medication for mental health, and much more. “A lot of things we saw Kanye going through, we kind of laugh at it… There’s a lot of things we don’t take in consideration.” Watch the full interview above.
Last week, in a segment of The Breakfast Club’s Rumor Report, Charlamagne Tha God revealed that Kanye West jokingly believes J. Cole has been regularly dissing him over the years.
